Basic tips and hints for choosing grades of white surface grinding wheels:
Softer grades (H and I) are recommended for hard materials, rapid stock removal, and larger contact areas.
Harder grades ( J and K) are recommended for soft materials, longer wheel life, small contact areas.
To make a wheel behave harder, decrease infeed rate, traverse speed, work speed, or through-feed rate.
To make a wheel behave softer, increase infeed rate, traverse speed, work speed, or through-feed rate.
