Fractional Spiral Point Extension taps.
6" Long. National Coarse and National Fine sizes.
High Speed Steel. Ground Thread.
These taps have an undercut shank to allow making a long thread in a through-hole.
Spiral Point taps feature a chiseled point that pushes metal chips ahead of the forming threads.
Extremely useful for tapping through-holes (ie holes that extend through the work.) Often machine-driven.
Spiral Point taps are not recommended for use in blind holes: the accumulation of chips can tend to bind and break these taps more easily than others.
